Cape May residents finally choose new Convention Hall design
CAPE MAY - After at least two years of sometimes contentious debate among residents and two different city administrations, as well as a $10 million bond ordinance approved by former administration and rejected by the current one, a majority of Cape May residents have finally chosen the design they want to replace the current building (Top photo). The current facility was built to replace the original hall that was destroyed in the historic 1962 northeaster but has since been deemed structurally unsafe for use. All that is left now is for the city to hold a fall referendum to decide how to pay for the new hall.
